Publicly Humiliated
Colossians 2:6-23
The Snake In Paradise
The Bible’s storyline is centered on a loving God who rescues humanity from sin, death and judgment. As the Bible says, Jesus did not come to judge us. He came to save us.
The narrative also centers on the defeat of Satan and his kingdom. The victory is so complete that Jesus takes a boastful victory lap in a public display of a humiliated Satan and a crushing defeat of his realm.
The Garden of Eden, the Paradise God created for human beings, was invaded, through stealthy deception, by a powerfully manipulative creature. The redemption story of the Bible is not only about man’s salvation, but a public humiliation of this sinister angel and his evil kingdom.
