The Pipeline of Discipleship

THE PIPELINE OF DISCIPLESHIP
When Jesus commissioned us, “make, baptize and teach disciples” (Matthew 28:18-20), He was delivering to us—the strategy for developing spiritual maturity among believers.
In our American culture, of instant gratification, we struggle to commit the time and effort of investing ourselves in discipleship. As a result, we tend to be inundated with shallowness and immaturity among the ranks of those who profess faith in Christ.
Discipleship is probably more like a pipeline than a process; where we are being mentored by those ahead of us and where we are mentoring those who are behind us. As we both follow and lead, the end result is ever increasing maturity and wisdom among those in the pipeline.
